The NMRLS Elder Law Project provides services at no charge to elderly Mississippians, age 60 and over, and works in partnership with six area agencies on aging to provide legal assistance to clients in 39 counties in the northern half of the State of Mississippi. In addition to our Intake Call Center, NMRLS offers an online form to apply for legal services. You should only apply online if you have a case that is not an emergency.
If you have an emergency such as a case that has a hearing date or a case that needs an answer to be filed, you should not apply online. You should contact the Intake Call Center.

The Mississippi Taxpayer Assistance Project (MTAP) is a project of North Mississippi Rural Legal Services (NMRLS), and provides assistance to low income and English as a Second Language (ESL) taxpayers throughout Mississippi. It provides low income taxpayers with free legal assistance on federal and some state tax matters.
Bank of America Settlement for Mississippi
On August 20, 2014, the United States Department of Justice, six states and Bank of America reached an agreement to settle claims that Bank of America, Countrywide, Merrill Lynch and First Franklin violated federal and state laws in connection with the packaging, origination, marketing, sale, structuring, arrangement and issuance of residential mortgage-backed securities and collateralized debt obligations.
